2011-01-27 | ImagesAZ | Youth

Anthem Soccer Club Stars Jonathon Pampinella and Jeffery Castaneda Represent AZ   Anthem Soccer Club standouts Jonathan Pampinella and Jeffery Castaneda made the Arizona Region IV Championship Roster. On the Anthem Soccer Club team he plays center midfield, and now on the ODP state team he plays outside mid.   ODP coaches have inquired if Jonathon played in Europe based on his ball handling and passing under pressure but Jonathon's credits his participation in Anthem Soccer Club since 2001 for his skills and playing style.   This is Pampinella's 3rd... Water 4 Kids Baseball Classic

2011-01-21 | ImagesAZ | Youth

January 29 & 30 Water 4 Kids Baseball Classic One year ago, the Anthem community learned the story of Sam Nollette, a small boy with big ideas. He stood in front of his council at a public meeting, asking them to donate the baseball fields, so that he could host a baseball tournament to raise funds for building a well to provide safe drinking water to children on the other side of the world. Connecting the dots to these complex thoughts may not have been able to be grasped by the mind of a clear-thinking council representative, but to a child, it seemed so simple. Sam Nollette was combining his love of baseball with a desire to help another child, just like him, to have one of the barest necessities that we so often take for granted. Sam may not have had the fields donated, but he did host his tournament through the generosity of sponsors; and through continued fundraising, he managed to have a well built, providing clean drinking water to 10,000 people in a Ugandan... Revolve Tour Sharing the Love

2011-01-11 | ImagesAZ | Youth

There’s something beautiful happening right now. It’s shining down like beams of sunshine on our neighborhoods, shimmering through windows and lighting up classrooms, athletic fields, and homes. It’s hope, and it’s reaching teenaged girls all across our country. It is the empowerment and acceptance of girls, by girls, and it’s changing the way girls think and act toward themselves and each other.   For generations, girls and women have pushed their way through barriers and yield signs, gaining strength and self-esteem. The movement started with the right to vote, then pushed its way through glass ceilings, Hollywood depictions and other inequalities. Today, many of the fights have been won, but women and girls are realizing that they don’t have to be equal to men; they are created differently and, well, uniquely female.   Nowhere is the change more apparent than in middle school- and high school-aged girls. These girls face so many challenges. Their self-esteem can be... More
